Bolivia: Zika mosquito adapting to life at 2,600 meters above sea level
One consolation for those living in Zika countries has been that the Aedes aegypti mosquito can't live above 2,200 meters (7,200 feet) above sea level. Mexico City, for this reason, hasn't been worried about Zika.
