Belize reports 8 measles cases, urges public vigilance amid regional health alert

​The Belize Ministry of Health and Wellness is urging residents to remain vigilant following a rise in measles cases linked to international travel and recently identified infections within the country.

Health officials in Belize confirmed that eight measles cases have been recorded since the beginning of 2026, with additional suspected cases currently under review. Authorities said they are continuing to monitor the situation closely while strengthening national surveillance and response measures.

The ministry warned that unvaccinated individuals — particularly those living in or travelling through border communities — face a higher risk of infection.​..
