Third swineflu death flu in Belgium


On sunday a third Belgian succumbed to the swineflu virus. It
is a 37-year-old woman from the province of Antwerp. This is reported by the
Interministerial Commissioner Influenza.

The woman was healthy until September 26 at the first signs of A/H1N1
flu spread.
Her condition was deteriorating, however, systematically and on 3
October was decided to include her in the hospital.

There was a bilateral pneumonia in her set. Her condition went
further back and finally the woman died last Sunday.

Normal mortality

It is the third case in our country of someone who died after he / she
complications caused by the influenza virus jumped A/H1N1. The mortality is
not higher than those in a normal flu season.

Last week in our country there were an estimated 4160 people who A/H1N1 flu
developed. Since the beginning of the epidemic this caused 12,678 cases of the
pandemic flu in Belgium. Until today 201 persons deceased in Europe
the impact of the A/H1N1-griep.
