After two years with no record of death from influenza A (H1N1) - swine flu or - in Bauru, a city resident died from the disease, the second confirmed yesterday the Municipal Health This is the first death in the year throughout the State of Sao Paulo in Brazil and 15 ?.
The patient, a marketer of 42 years will not be identified at the request of the family, died the morning of Aug. 9, after being hospitalized for five days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Hospital S?o Lucas. According to the secretary, she was overweight and would not have been vaccinated against influenza A (H1N1). The cause of death was confirmed by laboratory tests only on Tuesday.
Contacted by this reporter, the State Department of Health was not yet known to occur but then confirmed that this was the first death from swine flu of 2011 throughout the state of Sao Paulo. There are also other four confirmed cases in the state that did not result in death.
