Ban on import of chicken, eggs from Nepal to UP district

BAHRAICH: With bird flu in neighbouring Nepal, the import of chicken, eggs and other such products from there has been banned in this district of Uttar Pradesh.

District Magistrate R. Saimphil said here today that besides a ban on the import of such goods, orders have also been issued to maintain a vigil in the forest as well as residential areas as a precautionary measure.

The ban on import has been imposed for six months , the DM said adding those going to the Himalayan nation from the district have also been advised not to consume such food there nor try to bring them here.

Forest department officials of Katarniyaghat said orders have been issued to maintain special a vigil in case of death of any bird.
