Epidemiological Observations: 1. Area--- Tea Garden , Tribal area & foot hills bordering area of Assam & Arunachal Pradesh. 2. Male : 6 , Female : 3 3. Age group : 1-4 yrs. 2 Nos., 10-15 yrs. 2 Nos. , 25-35 yrs. 3 Nos., 45 yrs. & above 2 Nos.
Lab results: *BS & RDK reported 6 Nos. out of 6 , 4 confirmed Pf ve at Kanaklata Civil Hospital Laboratory, Tezpur one Number is negative & results of 3 Nos. of BS yet to be reported from Rangapara PHC. *Two negative BS send to the joint Director of Health Services (Malaria) Guwahati for confirmation and cross checking on 13.04.2010
Control measures: *RRT not yet deployed, but the concerned Block PHC is carrying out containment meausres. * MBS collection : 3403145593544 Nos. * ITBN Done : 1626096275 6533 Nos. * DDT spray done ( No. of houses not provided from PHC) * Awareness meeting : done locally in concerned PHCs.
Investigation Open Among these cases two serum samples have been send to RMRC, Dibrugarh on 13.04.2010

Observations: The village is situated near by dense forest area and borderland of Karbi Anlong district. Kalioni river running through this village and people drink the water from this river. No water supply, no tube well or save drinking water sources noticed in the village.
Lab Results: BS Collection : 3 on 130510 BS Examination & RDK test : 130510 BS RDK Result : 3 PFve on 130510 Mass BS Collection today : 135, Result : Awaited
Control Measures: 1) Focal DDT spray going on in the village. 2) ITBN done 485 in April 10’ 3) Mass BS collection done 138 4) RRT team, Joint Director & DMO visited the affected area today (14052010). 5) ASHA, ANM & other health workers are instructed to collect BS immediately for all fever cases. 6) IEC given to the villagers. 7) Anti malarial drugs distributed to the affected villagers. 8) Local PHC instructed to look close observation all the villages and take immediate measures. Total no. of BS collected from the affected areas 140, Result : awaited 2. DDT Spray was done on 19, 20 & 21 April 2010 again Focal spray to be done from tomorrow. 3. Bednets impregnation to be done from tomorrow onwards. 4. All Paramedical staffs engaged to the affected areas for IEC from local PHC. 5. RRT team visited the area & examine situation 6. Occupation: Working as a maid servant at the residence of Mr. Jatin Konwar. 4. Traveling History: He had recently visited Kokrajhar. 5. Clinical Presentation: The patient was suffering from fever, headache with Jaundice. Type of Sample: RDT Kit, Nos. of samples collected & tested : 1 Test Done : RDT at Khowang PHC Result : Malaria PF A medical team from Khowang PHC is being sent for investigation and necessary containment measures to be taken is under process. Investigation Open The Patient is referred to AMCH, Dibrugarh. No any new case is detected till date from that area.

Notes: One is 23yrs male and another is a 30yrs male, both of them left their work at the coal fields of Meghalaya on getting fever and came back to their homes. The village is situated at the base of Garo Hills of Meghalaya. PBS was tested at the Tumni CHC and both of them tested PF Positive. 1) The MO and the field workers from the Tumni CHC started IEC activities, 2)Mass Blood Slides collection started, 3) Focal Spray to be done.
