Security Alert: Exercise Increased Caution in Armenia

Event: Due to regional events, the U.S. Embassy has advised its personnel to exercise increased caution and recommended the following actions. Military activity in the Middle East region has disrupted regional travel, including air travel to and from Armenia.

Actions to Take:

• Be aware of your surroundings.
• Avoid all demonstrations and large gatherings.
• Monitor local media.
• Follow the instructions of local authorities.
• Contact your airline directly for flight change details if your flight is affected.
• Note that some flights to and from Armenia utilize Iranian airspace. These flights may be subject to flight cancellations, delays, or deviations.
• Keep a low profile.
• Exercise caution and stay alert at locations publicly associated with the United States.
• Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP ) to receive security messages and make it easier to locate you in an emergency.
