Spectator areas at Arizona Athletic Grounds were identified as possible exposure spots during youth baseball and softball events on Jan. 23 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Jan. 24 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Anyone who was in those viewing areas is being told to watch for symptoms through Feb. 14. County officials say the number of confirmed Maricopa County resident cases remains at three.

In a Jan. 28 public notice, the Maricopa County Department of Public Health said it had added Arizona Athletic Grounds to its list of public exposure sites and updated the online exposure list with the new location and specific exposure windows...

Arizona’s measles outbreak is showing signs of slowing down. The Arizona Department of Health Services reported just one new measles case this week.

Most of Arizona’s recent measles cases have been in Mohave County around the small Utah border town of Colorado City. Since August, 261 cases have been confirmed there.

Mohave County added just 20 cases in February – the lowest monthly total since that outbreak began, according to Department of Health Services data.

Maricopa County has reported four measles cases since the start of this year, Pinal County has reported three, and Pima County has reported two. None of those three counties have warned of any new potential public measles exposures since early February...

Maricopa County officials are warning residents about measles exposure at 10 different sites in Mesa as three cases bring the yearly tally up to 13.

"Public notifications are issued when exposed individuals cannot be identified, so people who may have been in a public setting at the same time as an infectious person can learn of their potential exposure and take protective steps," read a May 6 statement from the Maricopa County Department of Public Health.

Some of the sites linked to the three newest cases include a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints house of worship, a Target and a Chick-fil-A. The public health department provided an online list of public exposure sites.

Those who were at the listed sites of exposure, the public health department said, have between May 10 and 24 to check for symptoms, which would include a high fever, red, watery eyes, a runny nose and a red, raised and blotchy rash...

Measles continues to spread in Arizona. Confirmed cases increased in June
KJZZ | By Katherine Davis-Young
Published July 15, 2026 at 4:28 PM MST

After several months of declining measles cases in Arizona, the state reported a slight increase in transmission in June.

Measles has been spreading in Arizona since August 2025. According to the Arizona Department of Health Services, monthly case counts reached a peak in December, when the state confirmed 54 cases. Case counts fell each month through May, when the state reported only six cases. But the tally increased again in June, when nine cases were confirmed.

Of the 332 cases reported in the state throughout 2025 and 2026, the majority — 285 cases — have been in Mohave County. That outbreak has ended. Mohave County has now gone more than two months without any new cases.

But the extremely contagious virus is still appearing in other parts of the state.

Pinal and Maricopa counties confirmed new cases this week. And Yavapai County on Wednesday confirmed its first measles case of 2026. Yavapai County health officials are also warning of recent potential public measles exposures at sites throughout the Prescott area...

Health authorities confirm measles case in Tucson resident
Officials have identified several locations where the public may have been exposed. by L. M. Boyd

A case of measles has been confirmed in a Tucson resident.

The individual, who is fully vaccinated against the disease, developed symptoms after returning to Arizona from international travel, according to a press release. They are currently isolating and recovering at home.

The Pima County Health Department (PCHD) identified the case in coordination with state health officials.

Arizona is currently experiencing an ongoing outbreak of measles along the Arizona-Utah border going back to August 2025..

As of July 14, health officials reported 332 measles cases and 25 hospitalizations in the state. One case was reported in Pima County in 2025 and two previous cases were reported earlier this year.

In April, state health officials confirmed that a 1-year-old child in Pima County was suffering from a rare measles vaccine side effect and did not have the measles as previously suspected.
Potential exposure locations

While officials state the overall risk to the general public remains low, a public health investigation is underway to identify and notify anyone who may have been exposed, officials said.

The health department identified several locations where the public may have been exposed between July 9 and July 14:

La Posada Oro Valley: July 9, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and July 10, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
