Influenza Elections and Schools
Barriers to stop the influenza A H1N1

Sunday June 28, 28000000 Argentines go through the ballot box in thousands of schools across the country.

Given the pandemic of influenza A H1N1 and to prevent possible infections, both those who attend school for the students when they return to class, it is necessary to take precautions to put a barrier to the disease.
The Higher Institute of Health Sciences and its CISED (Center for Health Research, Education and Sport) has developed a plan of assistance in this pandemic, made up of eight bio-barriers: physical 1, 2 chemical, biological 3, 4 educational , 5 supervision or control, psychological 6, 7 and 8 research resources. These barriers are based on the original four proposals by the WHO and the other four developed by the Institute since 2000. Besides full support for this scheme with the National Contingency Plan supports five more of these barriers: Communication 1, 2 Central Coordination, Epidemiological Surveillance 3, 4 Treatment and prevention of complicaciones.5 programs, strategies and actions. These barriers, as proposed by the Superior Institute of Health Sciences on the basis of documents of the World Health Organization, the Ministry of Health and own contributions are part of a strategic plan for the occasion
How is it transmitted?
Because influenza is transmitted in two ways
1-Directly from an ill person to a healthy, via droplets that removes the patient to cough, sneeze, talk, call-air, on the suspended particles in the ambient air.
2 - Indirectly through objects contaminated with respiratory secretions, handles, telephones, doorknobs or sharing utensils, food, or to salute with the hand or kissing a patient.
How long can an infected person spread the virus to others?
At present, it is considered that this virus has the same properties of the spread of influenza virus and seasonal influenza. In studies on the seasonal flu or influenza have shown that people can be contagious from one day before symptoms begin to manifest until 7 days after they became ill. Children, especially small ones, can be contagious for longer.
Do you live long outside the body?
Although studies are lacking, viruses of this group survived for 24 to 48 hours. in non-porous surfaces, from 8 to 12 pm. paper and cloth and held for several minutes as the moisture from it. Source MSAL. Data from the Ministry of Health in its National Plan to Combat pandemic.
Precautionary measures in school

The chemical barrier, the inactivation. Is to kill or inactivate leave without a germ or its ability to produce a pathogenic disease, also called intensive disinfection. The appropriate remedy is to leave school able to infect anyone is going to vote, the election is finished and return to clean the school so students can learn without the same risk.
The way that school staff should proceed to clean floors, bathrooms, doorknobs, railings, handrails and any contact surface, and cut the indirect transmission.
Is as follows: we take one part of lavandin concentrated to 10% and is added to 9 parts water. To clean the floor lavandin 1 liters of concentrated at 10% and 9 liters of water, is what is usually a bucket with a rag mop a floor or all floors are cleaned, allow to stain wet for 15 minutes, and This will remove all the germs, not just the flu, but also others such as the tuberculosis, AIDS, the hepatitis and so on.
To clean doorknobs, monthly, phones, door handles, desks, in a container to prepare a cup or glass of lavandin concentrated at 10% and 9 cups or glasses of water, and a grid is going on these surfaces, allowing it to work for 15 minutes .
All staff should wear gloves and protective eye glasses can be neutral, to avoid damaging the skin or eyes with bleach.
This deep cleaning is done on Saturday before the election, on Monday and repeated on Tuesday that students can enter safely.
Remember to never be mixed with detergent lavandin because its gases are toxic to the lungs.
It is a common mistake to believe that if 1% lavandin kills a higher percentage will make it more, this is wrong because it depends on the membrane of liposoluble germs. Use the recommendations.
Ventilate multiple times daily environments. During class breaks at all.
For other elements you can use hydrogen peroxide. Take 10% hydrogen peroxide, placing three parts and two parts water is 6%. Skip to mesh or cotton and leaving 15 minutes. Ethyl alcohol also "fine" is prepared at 70% alcohol 96% 7 parts and three parts water. Allow 15 minutes wet.
You can also use alcohol gel.

Precautionary measures to voters:

1 - When you look at the lists to find out which board voted not to support their fingers or their hands, but do ask for help to reach another person.
2 - When the glue on the table to maintain a distance of 1 meter.
3 - Do not quit on the tongue, apply a contact adhesive or moisten with a esponjita.
4 - Wash your hands before going to vote and return.
5 - Do not take your hands, or mouth, or eyes without washing your hands.
6 - Observe and enforce other rules of caution.

Precautionary measures to prosecutors and presidents of tables:

1 - Avoid shaking hands to greet, welcome and farewell to the voters with a cordial greeting and a smile.
2 - Provide voters an adhesive or foam to close the envelopes.
3 - Do not put hands to the face or touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
4 - Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds, what it takes to sing happy birthday 2 times, or failing that use alcohol gel.
5 - Avoid areas, if possible, and for people to maintain a line one meter.

This is a further contribution of the Higher Institute of Health Sciences for the whole community.

Review the most important aspects of Influenza A H1N1 virus.
What is influenza or the flu?
It is an acute respiratory illness caused by any of the three types of influenza viruses that are known: A, B and C. A sub-type according to their surface proteins: hemagglutinin in N H and neuraminidase, which depends on its ability to cause different forms of the disease. There are 144 possible combinations, from H1N1 to H16N9 were detected as 16 hemagglutinin and 9 neuraminidase.

What is influenza A H1N1 influenza virus?
Influenza H1N1 (which initially was called "swine flu") infection is a new influenza virus that causes disease in humans, this new virus was first detected in people in April 2009. This virus is spread from person to person, probably very similar to the spread of influenza viruses and seasonal influenza.
Why is also called "swine flu influenza or" the new H1N1 virus?
This virus was initially named the virus "swine flu" because laboratory tests indicated that many of the genes present in this virus were similar to influenza viruses that affect pigs regularly to North America . However, additional studies have indicated that this virus is very different from those commonly circulating in pigs. Scientists call this type "virus rearranged" quad, which has two genes (the genetic material RNA) of pork, one American and one Eurasian pig, a genetic component or bird aviary and a component of human gene .
What is a virus?
It is a germ or organism. Remember that germs or microorganisms are microscopic beings, able to infect humans and are classified into four groups: I-bacteria, virus-II, III, fungi, parasites and IV.
All be seen with the naked eye. Recently with the arrival of the first optical microscope and electron microscope long after, we saw the virus, measured in this case because a virus MYXOVIRUS group, about 80 to 200 nm, nanometers (a nanometer equals a billionth of a 10 meters or less to 9). So the old thought that diseases were a punishment from the gods or evil spirits.
Why do not we?
We all know one meters, divided into one hundred if you get an inch, if divided into ten, one millimeter. This limits the resolution of the eye. If a millimeter is divided into a thousand, I get a micron. Bacteria measure from 0.2 to several microns. If I divide one micron and ten thousand times I get an Armstrong. The virus was measured in Armstrong. Therefore I can never see a bacterium or a virus, because they are a thousand or ten million times more boys than the eye can see.
Is this new H1N1 virus is very contagious?
Experts have determined that this new H1N1 virus is very contagious and is spreading from person to person.

What to do to stay healthy
? Stay informed. Www.cienciasdelasalud.edu.ar on our website will be updated as soon as new information becomes available.
? It is thought that influenza is spread primarily from person to person when infected people cough or sneeze, or by touching contaminated objects.
? Take a day to stay healthy.
or covering your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. Throw the tissue in the trash after use or in a nylon bag ...
or wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after coughing or sneezing. For 20 seconds, what it takes to sing Happy Birthday twice. Disinfectants based hand alcohol are also effective.
or Try not touching your eyes, nose or mouth. This is how germs spread.
Stay home or if you feel sick. It is recommended to stay at home, not go to work or school and limit contact to avoid infecting others.
? Follow the advice of public health on the closures of schools, avoid crowds and take other measures of social distancing.
? For more information on people suspected of infection and how you can call the Ministry of Health of the Nation for 24 hours to their line 0800-222-1002 option 5.
