For two months, Hank Holt's family was clinging to hope that he would recover from the H1N1 virus.

Holt died shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday, exactly 60 days after he was admitted at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was 54.

"It was the direct result of the H1N1 virus," Holt's brother, Jerry Holt, 63, said Sunday. "Complications continued to happen along the way."

Hank Holt, a service technician for a company that works with restaurant equipment, became ill in February.

He went to an urgent-care facility Feb. 7.

He eventually went to Sacred Heart Hospital's emergency room Feb. 10 and was admitted for observation. The next day, he was put into a medically induced coma, Jerry Holt said.
