Genetic material of the A-H5 virus and antibodies in blood serum were found in laboratory tests in 41 tests of material from wild migrant birds in Altai Territory, Ust-Orda Buryat Autonomous District and the Republic of Buryatia, Russia, a REGNUM correspondent was told today at the press office of Rosselkhoznadzor Novosibirsk Region Department.


Besides, antibodies to A-H5 and H7 strains were found in 19 tests of sample material from wild migrant birds in three districts of Tomsk Region. Overall, more than 1,500 samples were taken in the frameworks of the monitoring.


Under summarized information of the department, there are about 6,000,000 of poultry located in the high risk zones of the Siberian Federal District.


By information by May 28, no cases of bird flu infections have been registered in the district.
