Fever affected in GGH, poor hygiene
“There are 943 families in Changanthivaripalam, a three-member constituency in Sattenpally constituency. There are two to three fever victims in each family. Platelets fell shortly after the onset of mild fever the next day and hospitals were being run for treatment. Although fever has subsided, many people suffer from skin and joint pain. At the same time, private doctors are robbing patients by naming them dengue. A similar situation prevailed throughout the district.
Witness: Amaravathi: People are trembling with viral fever in rural and urban areas. Viral fever has intensified in the district for ten days. More than ten people have died of fever in the district recently. Most people in the thirties are suffering from fever. Some people are dengue fever after fever. Government doctors say there are no dengue deaths anywhere in the district. Unofficially, however, people who recently died of viral fever are suspected to have died of dengue. Fever in the countryside, fears are running towards private hospitals. Private doctors are making huge money by showing dengue fever. Doctors are trying to motivate the public as soon as they get infected with viral fevers.
Rudrabati Satyanarayana (75), Kalagotla Narayanamma (45), Rajarapu Peraamma (65), Meeda Naveenkumar (5), Neelam Kottayya (70), Kota Kashyamma (40) and Mocherla Madhu (6) died. It is suspected that most of them died of fever. According to the statistics of doctors from January to date, more than five thousand people have been treated for fever. Their number may be unofficially over seven thousand. 400 people with malaria fever and 500 hospitalized with dengue fever. A well-known senior medical professional in Guntur city has recently been confronted with dying of dengue fever.
Sanitation in rural areas has
become worse with recent rains. In addition to being special officers of village panchayats, they do not focus on sanitation. Drainage of sewage on roads is due to poor drainage. Dirty water is stored in some parts of the villages. The odor is dissipated because the garbage can is not properly disposed of. Mosquitoes are on the rise and people are suffering from fever. Mosquito screens are a must.
