Please excuse the typos. Also, some of the media conference may be in French. While I can read French, I am not confident about my ability to correctly translate medical terms spoken in French.

Notes -

Received 1st mpox vaccines
All partners are participating in mpox response

techical difficulties. transmission down. waiting to see if they re-start.

AFRO:

Launching continental mpox plan. Country centric.
Goal is prevention and control.
Explaining budget and details of plan.
Team of experts from WHO and Africa CDC to work with various countries.

Africa CDC:

More details about vaccines and distribution.

More techical difficulties. Moderator's speaker muted? Not working consistently.

AFRO (Dr. Moeti) says she can't hear what is being said.

The system went down as Dr. Kaseya was updating the numbers. All I could understand was that the case fatality rate is going down because more cases are being counted and the quality of care has improved.

Dr. Moeti says she is struggling to hear what is going on....makes some comments about the NGOs are helping with vaccine effort.

I can't understand well enough to continue these notes. Sorry.
