CDC Unveils School Dismissal Reporting System

While the hope is that schools can remain in session normally this fall and winter, the reality is that the local impact of the pandemic virus, and parents reactions, will have more to do with the success of that endeavor than school policy.

The CDC will provide recommendations and guidelines, but the decision to close schools will be made at the local and state levels.

In order to keep track of how many schools are closed . . . and where . . . the CDC has unveiled a School Dismissal Reporting System today.



School Dismissal Monitoring System

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U. S. Department of Education have established a School Dismissal Monitoring System to report on novel influenza (H1N1)-related school or school district dismissal in the United States. Your assistance in reporting known school dismissals is very important.
School dismissals can be reported in two ways:
