Swine-flu reports double in Montreal schools

MONTREAL - Eight Montreal schools have reported an outbreak of swine flu illness in the last 24 hours ? double the number of schools hit during the past two weeks.
An outbreak means more than 10 per cent of students went home with flu-like symptoms.
Montreal Health and Social Services Agency officials say they are vigilantly monitoring the situation and will change the vaccination priorities if the virus starts causing complications and deaths.
Healthy adults and children older than age five are to start getting the vaccine as of Dec. 7. The gravely ill, first responders and health workers are being inoculated this week.

Nov 6 start
- Parents with children under 6 months
- Families with members that are immune deficient
Nov. 9 start
- Pregnant women
- Children (age 6 months to 5 years) and their parents
Nov. 16 start
- Children age 18 and under with a chronic illness
Nov. 23 start:
- Adults ages 18 to 65 with a chronic illness
