TAMPA ? The swine flu epidemic has claimed its seventh and eight lives in Hillsborough.

The Hillsborough County Health Department reported Friday the deaths of a 47-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man from causes related to swine flu, also known as the H1N1 virus.

The woman, who died Sept. 16, had underlying medical conditions. The man, who died Sunday, did not.

Health department officials were not able to release more information about the deaths. They did note that swine flu accounts for nearly all of the flu illness currently circulating in Hillsborough.

As of Wednesday, Florida counted 91 laboratory-confirmed deaths from the virus.
