-- The last outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza was reported on 11 February 2008.

-- Quarantine restrictions have been lifted on 27 February 2008.

-- No further outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza have been registered on the Ukrainian territory since 11 February 2008.

-- On all national territory, monitoring programme for highly pathogenic avian influenza is continuing.

-- Since the beginning of the year 119,500 serological tests have been carried out in domestic and wild animals with negative results.

-- Based on the above and in accordance with Article 2.7.12.4. of the Terrestrial Animal Code, the Delegate of Ukraine declares his country free from HPAI H5N1 with effect from 27 May 2008.
