Tijuana was detected in the case of a patient with a rare disease. It is the ninth time this disease occurring throughout the country.
Disease is called Rosai-Dorfman due to medical scientists who discovered it in the year 1962.
Basically consists of the swollen lymph no reason and without limit.
In Tijuana the first patient with this disease was a child of only 10 months old. He arrived at the general hospital with neck totally bloated and malnutrition.
Although not a malignant disease by itself; the same symptoms can cause other illnesses.
The merit of medical personnel in this case was detected in time as confusion with other diseases such as cancer, HIV or tuberculosis had thrown maybe fatal results.
The youngest is now 1 year 2 months is stable and under medication at home. Remain under observation for at least 5 years to verify that the disease does not develop again.
