The Tarrant County Public Health Department is reporting its seventh H1N1-related death.
According to a news release, a Tarrant County female in her late 40s died of a flu-related illness this week. Laboratory results confirmed that she had the H1N1 influenza. She also was in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention?s target groups recommended to receive the H1N1 vaccine.
In order to comply with federal privacy laws, Tarrant County Public Health cannot provide additional identifying information.
Tarrant County Public Health also announced in news release today that it has received 14,300 doses of injectable H1N1 influenza vaccine. An event to distribute the vaccine will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Resource Connection gymnasium, 1200 Circle Drive, in Fort Worth.
The vaccine will be available to all people in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention target groups: pregnant women; household contacts and caregivers for children younger than 6 months of age; health-care and emergency medical services personnel; all people from 6 months through 24 years of age and people 25 through 64 years of age who have health conditions associated with a higher risk of medical complications from influenza.
