An earthquake of magnitude 7.1 occurred at 16 hrs 40 min (now Vietnam) on 11 / 4 in the Solomon Islands in the Pacific Ocean.
Agency seismic survey said U.S. center of the earthquake is located at a depth of 52km below the surface and the city of Solomon Kira Kira nearly 100km southwest.

However, the Tsunami Warning Center Pacific suggests that the intensity of the earthquake of 7.5 Richter scale can cause a tsunami destroyed coastal areas within a radius of 100km from the epicenter.

Earlier this year, an earthquake 7.2 on the Richter scale also shook the western Solomon Islands, created the tsunami height near 2.5 m.

Earlier, in April 2007, the islands also suffered a strong earthquake to 8 Richter scale, caused a tsunami caused 50 deaths and thousands of people to be evacuated. /.:tiphat:http://vovnews.vn/Home/Dong-dat-71-do-Richter-tai-quan-dao-Solomon/20104/140523.vov
