38 soldiers at the garrison in Sor-Varanger in Finnmark are infected with swine flu.
- "It is not a crisis. The sick have a fever and mild cold symptoms" says physician Esben Kvammen Rafaelsen to NRK.

The garrison in South-Varanger has focused on guarding the 196-km-long boundary with Russia in the east.
- "With rank, we have 600 soldiers here. 200 is guarding the border, while 400 are at the camp. It is in the camp, the virus has broken out. There is minimal contact between the soldiers in camp and those guarding the border" says physician Esben Kvammen Rafaelsen to VG Nett.
He does not think it will be necessary to call in extra forces to guard the border.
- "This is more a logistical problem for us. Those who are sick will be healthy again in a week. This is being resolved internally" he said.
Typically, there are 11 beds in the living room of the garrison hospital in South Varanger, but the capacity is increased to 26 after the swine flu outbreak.
- "We have also converted another barracks to the medical room. We have good capacity if more people should be sick. Here soldiers are given Tamiflu, food and drink" says the doctor.
He stressed that it has been taken precautions to prevent swine influenza, but this has not been enough.
- "We are many people in a small garrison. The virus is simply to difficult to stop" he said.
His Majesty The King?s Guard
This is not the first outbreak in the military. Earlyer, the virus also struck out the drill and music tie in His Majesty The King?s Guard.
Folkehelseinstituttet assume that a total of 1.4 million of the population will be infected by the virus.
