JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - State health officials are awaiting the results of autopsies on two students before declaring them the victims of swine flu.
Coroner Norma Stiglet says the death of a Hancock County Middle School student is under investigation.
Stiglet says the 13-year-old girl died Thursday. Stiglet didn't give the girl's name or release any other details.
In Warren County, an autopsy showed a 15-year-old Warren Central High School student did not die of bacterial meningitis.
County Coroner Doug Huskey says Wesley Husband died in a small waiting room detached from the main waiting area of a medical clinic.
He says the medical examiner believes she found pneumonia-like symptoms, but further tests are required to confirm that.
Husband's symptoms had been coughing and congestion. Huskey says the teen had been out of school for several days and had been treated in an emergency room Tuesday and released.
State Epidemiologist Dr. Mary Currier says it may be next week before health officials determine whether the students died of the new swine flu virus.
