6th person in Florida with swine flu dies

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A 19-year-old woman from Pennsylvania became the sixth person with swine flu to die in Florida, health officials said Tuesday.
They didn't identify the woman but said she was visiting central Florida and was hospitalized in Orlando prior to her death.
Health officials said the cause of death was still being determined but it was believed to be related to the swine flu.
"This person posed no additional risks to the community's health whatsoever," said Dr. Kevin Sherin, director of the Orange County Health Department.

ORLANDO -- County health officials today are reporting the first confirmed case of a death in Orange County related to swine flu.
The 19-year-old woman, a tourist and resident of Pennsylvania, died at Florida Hospital. Officials did not disclose the date of death or details of the case citing federal health privacy laws.
Doctors would not pin the cause of death on swine flue because the cause of death has not been determined.
"This is the first death in Orange County related to swine flue," said Dr. Kevin Sherin of the Orange County Health Department. "Our hearts and prayers go out to her and her family."
The report of the young woman's death comes on the heels of an announcement today by the University of Central Florida that 10 case are being treated among students. That numbers could rise to as many as 26. There have been aobut 900 cases reported in Florida. (Continued ...)

Florida has had more than 940 cases and five other deaths related to swine flu. Three deaths were in Miami-Dade County, one was in Broward County and another one was in Seminole County in the Orlando area.
Health officials say this death is being added to Pennsylvania's swine-flu related death count since she wasn't a Florida resident.
