Fla Medic Makes the Big Time - Again!

sharon sanders

Editor-in-Chief & President
We are very pleased to announce that our friend and Senior Moderator Fla Medic has been added as a contributor to Medpedia.

It is published in association with Harvard Medical School, Stanford Medical School, Berkeley School of Public Health, and University of Michigan Medical School.

Wow! Fantastic!

What I like about Mike's essays are that they are understandable by the "regular" person. Like me. Someone with no medical background. I read the medical journals and get a partial understanding. If I am lucky Mike has covered the same paper and then I can read his translation. lol

The only question I have for Medpedia is: What took you so long? We have been cataloging Mike's essays for more than a year.

So Mike - Does this mean you are going raise the price of your autographed glossy photos or raise the price for admission into your fan club?

:D

Re: Fla Medic Makes the Big Time - Again!

Well done Mike. Great recognition for your contributions and hard work.

About me

I am a former Paramedic (EMT-II) and EMS in-service training instructor with a strong interest in emerging infectious diseases, public health issues, and individual and community preparedness. I've been blogging on these issues since 2005, and have 3700+ essays online. I was selected to be part of the HHS's Pandemic Leadership Blog in 2007, and have been invited to participate in a couple of CDC/HHS tabletop exercises. I write primarily on influenza news and research, but also write about other emerging infectious diseases as well; Lyme, Hendra, Yersinia, West Nile, etc.

Re: Fla Medic Makes the Big Time - Again!

Thank you to everyone.

But most of the real work is being done by the incredible newshounds, upon whose efforts I build my blogs. Please know how grateful I am for all of your hard work and dedication.

You've built a remarkable forum here. Civil, intelligent, and dedicated towards lowering morbidity and mortality in this, and any other, disease outbreak. You should be very proud of your accomplishments.

I know I'm proud to be associated with it.

Re: Fla Medic Makes the Big Time - Again!

Congratulations FLAMEDIC,

The medias will be in dire need of people like you who can bridge Science and Social.

You're bound now after all these years of Constance.

Way to go

Re: Fla Medic Makes the Big Time - Again!

Well, I can say a hearty and well deserved congrats to Mike. I knew Mike way back when....er, uh, when he taught me to suture a de-veined shrimp :D

But, that's another story. But, that's Mike too - always boiling it down and making it practical for us non-med types.

Kudos, Mike!
