This information would be announced today by the Department of Health of the Nation, after three weeks during which official figures were not released.

During last three weeks, health authorities of the most affected districts, Federal Capital and Greater Buenos Aires, admitted that visits to the doctor related to the disease had descended. But the number of deaths continues to rise.

In the world, the flu affected 162.380 people, according to the last report from the World Health Organization (WHO), published today in the website of the international organism.

Sounds familiar. A poignant account of 1918 Spanish flu in Philadelphia retells a story by which the government at that time kept announcing that the flu had reached its peak (in deaths per day) as the deaths continued to climb after each announcement. I believe they began announcing around 200 deaths per day. It steadily climbed to about 600-800 deaths per day before it peaked.
