Breaking news: Two die after catching swine flu
Date: 06 July 2009
TWO people from Dewsbury have died after catching swine flu.
A girl from Dewsbury, who had underlying health issues, is believed to have died on Thursday.
Although NHS Kirklees confirmed the death, they would not say when the child passed away.
She is the fifth person in the UK to die after catching the virus.
And a man, believed to be a teacher at the Institute of Islamic Education in Savile Town, was the sixth person in the UK to die after catching the virus.
It is believed he died yesterday (Sunday) but again, this would not be confirmed by NHS Kirklees.
A spokesman for NHS Kirklees said both had underlying health issues.
He said: "At this stage, we have no confirmation whether or not swine flu was the cause of death."
