Several years ago shortly after joining the board I purchased a supply of disposable n-95 masks. It looks like the glue on the seals holding the filters to the exhalation valve has failed. There are gaps and puckers that would let unfiltered air in. I do not know if 1) the shipment was bad when I got it (did not check upon receipt - my bad) or 2) the glue failed during storage. They have been stored sealed in plastic in a cool dark basement.
I would suggest that it might be a good idea to either rotate older preps when appropriate or check them periodically to make sure they are still useable. Checking the masks upon receipt would have been a real good idea too.
