First Israeli whole-genome sequence of Monkeypox virus associated with the May 2022 multi country outbreak - Genome Reports
Here we report the whole-genome sequence of a monkeypox virus strain isolated from a male patient on May 20, 2022. After traveling back from Belgium and Germany to Israel, he was hospitalized with pox-like lesions. Pustule swab samples were analyzed by PCR, according to the method described by Shchelkunov et al.
