A few years back I woke up, walked out on my deck and heard a snort. 20 feet away, sitting on his bottom in the middle of what USED TO BE my corn patch was a big fat black bear. Just calmly finishing up his snack.
I hear ya! I live in the mountains also, NH. We have a neighborhood bear, and I can't feed the birds. I haven't seen him...but the neighbors have, when their feeders are torn down, or their rails are torn off that held the feeders....I don't feed the birds. I don't want Mr. Bear coming near the house.
