    Anti-China riots in Vietnam threaten foreign investment

    Violent protests targeting Chinese factories in Vietnam have spilled over into the facilities of other global manufacturers, casting a pall over a country many companies had turned to for its cheap labor and skilled workforce.

    The protests — sparked by an oil rig that a Chinese state-run company placed in disputed South China Sea waters—have turned deadly, with at least two people dead. They’ve left more than a dozen factories burned, scores more shut and forced Chinese nationals to flee the country. Vietnamese police have arrested nearly 500 people accused of looting and arson...
