New Zika case reported in RI; Blood Center takes extra precaution

As of May 4, there have been two travel-related cases of the Zika virus reported in the Ocean State, the Rhode Island Department of Health confirmed Tuesday.
That's why the Rhode Island Blood Center is taking extra precaution and asking donors about recent travel to areas with active mosquito-borne transmission of the virus.
They are also reminding donors that they cannot give blood within 28 days of returning to the U.S. from an area with active Zika transmission
