Randy Seifert was an avid tennis player and in excellent health.
But the 52-year-old Hartland man did not get a flu shot to protect him from a seasonal virus that many people his age tend not to take seriously.
So it was particularly shocking for his friends and family when Seifert died Sunday from complications of the flu, 10 minutes after he was removed from a mechanical ventilator that had kept him alive since Jan. 5...
