USVI reports 1st swine flu death

(AP) — CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U.S. Virgin Islands - Health authorities say this three-island U.S. territory has had its first death from the swine flu virus.
Acting Health Commissioner Julia Sheen told reporters Tuesday that the flu victim was a St. Croix resident, but refused to disclose whether the patient had underlying conditions complicated by the H1N1 virus or any further specifics due to medical privacy issues.
The U.S. Virgin Islands has confirmed 80 cases of swine flu in the Caribbean territory.
