Dorchester County man dies from Strain B Influenza

SUMMERVILLE ? A 39-year-old Dorchester County man has died of the flu.

Dorchester County Coroner Christopher D. Nisbet said the patient was transported from his home to an area hospital where he later died in the emergency room.

The victim suffered for about a week prior to his death, initially complaining of chest congestion and difficulty breathing, according to family members, Nisbet said.

The coroner said he verified with a Newberry pathologist that the man succumbed to a confirmed case of Strain B Influenza.
