OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Oklahoma City day care worker has been diagnosed with bacterial meningitis, a representative of the day care center confirmed.
A spokeswoman for Childtime Learning Centers said that as soon as the person was diagnosed, the day care center -- located near 104th Street and South Western Avenue -- partnered with the Oklahoma City County Health Department to ensure necessary steps were taken to protect everybody at the school.
School officials said families and other employees who might have come into contact with the diagnosed person received information on preventative antibiotics, supplemental insurance benefits and were encouraged to visit a family physician.
A "thorough and extensive cleaning" was also taken at the school, the spokeswoman said.
