    Current Influenza Activity Levels: Sporadic

    Summary:
    * Public health surveillance data sources indicate minimal intensity for influenza-like illness in outpatient settings reported by Ohio?s sentinel providers.
    * Five influenza-associated hospitalizations were reported in the Central Region, 1 in the West Central Region, 2 in the East Central Region, 1 in the Southeast Region, and 2 in the Northwest Region.
    * The percentage of emergency department visits with patients exhibiting constitutional symptoms are above baseline levels statewide.

    State Surveillance Data:
    * ODH lab reported results for those cases that are PCR positive for seasonal influenza. Positive results: (0) (through 11/2/13).
    * No pediatric influenza-associated mortalities have been reported for the 2013-14 season (through 11/2/13).
    * Incidence of confirmed influenza-associated hospitalizations in 2013-2014 season = 29 (through 11/2/13).
