We saw a substantial increase in both reported cases and ILI for week 51 compared with previous weeks this season. At 1.93, our percent ILI is now above our regional threshold of 1.3%.
During week 51, one community outbreak was reported, affecting residents
near areas of Stark county.
School absenteeism this week was reported at 0.43%
Percent positivity of influenza testing at sentinel laboratories increased for the third straight week and is currently at 21.42%.

Week 52, ending Dec 28
During week 52 reported cases of influenza, as well as ILI,continued to increase. We saw 179 new cases this week. Lab testing has shown the 2009 pandemic strain of H1N1 (pH1N1) to be the predominant strain circulating this season.
No outbreaks among long term care residents have been reported yet this season.
