    Elementary school student is NC?s first flu death of the season

    Raleigh, N.C. ? State health officials say an elementary student from the Triangle region of the state died last week of complications from an influenza infection ? North Carolina?s first flu death of the 2014-2015 flu season.

    The child was at risk for complications from the flu because of underlying medical conditions. To protect the family?s privacy, the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services is not releasing the child?s hometown, county, age and sex
