MADISON CO. -- Another Central New Yorker has died from the flu, this time in Madison County.
This is the first flu death in Madison County. Health officials say the victim was a middle-aged adult who had an underlying health condition. The person had a the H1N1 flu and was not vaccinated.
"The H1N1 flu is the predominant flu strain circulating this year," said Cheryl Geiler, Madison County Health Department's Director of Community Health. "We continue to strongly encourage children, young adults, middle-aged adults, and older adults to get the flu vaccine to protect themselves, especially if they have an underlying medical condition."
