MISSOULA, Mont. — A Yellowstone County child has died from influenza, the child had underlying health conditions and was not vaccinated against influenza. This is the first death and pediatric death of the 2021-2022 influenza season in Montana.
The following was sent out by Yellowstone County's Riverstone Health in Billings:
RiverStone Health was recently notified of the untimely death of a Yellowstone County child due to influenza. The child had underlying health conditions, was not vaccinated against influenza and died on December 24, 2021.
RiverStone Health, in conjunction with the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services, confirms that this is the first death and the first pediatric death of the 2021-2022 influenza season in Montana.
Because of confidentiality, RiverStone Health does not provide additional details on individual cases...
