    County reports first H1N1 deaths
    The Enquirer ? November 6, 2009

Two Calhoun County residents have died of H1N1 influenza-realted illnesses, the Calhoun County Public Health Depart-ment announced this afternoon.

A 21-year-old man and a 71-year-old woman were confirmed through laboratory tests to have the virus, also known as swine flu, at the time of their deaths. Both also had underlying health conditions, according to the health department.

These are the first H1N1 deaths in Calhoun County. The health department advises high-risk groups (pregnant women, people ages 25 and younger and persons ages 25 to 64 with chronic health conditions) to be vaccinated against the virus.
