Fourth flu-related death reported in Kent County

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Health officials have confirmed a fourth death related to the flu in Kent County.

That brings the total flu-related deaths in West Michigan to 8.

The latest victim was over 50 years old, and did have other underlying medical conditions.

But officials say the flu is impacting people of all ages and health levels this year.

As of last week, there were 522 reported flu cases in Kent County alone.
