    Second Child In Mass. Dies From Flu-Related Illness

    BOSTON (CBS) ? A girl from Middlesex County has died from a flu-related illness, the second flu-related death of a child in Massachusetts this week, the state Department of Health announced Friday.

    According to the Framingham Public Health Department, a four-year-old child in town recently died but the DPH and the Medical Examiner?s Office are working to determine a cause of death.

    The death of a 12-year-old boy from Milford with a flu-related illness was announced Thursday.

          BOSTON ? Massachusetts health officials reported a third child has died from influenza complications this season.

          The latest death, according to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, is a girl, age unknown, from Middlesex County. The state did not release the community, both one of the Boston TV stations was reporting a 4-year-old girl from Lowell.

                        Health officials confirm state's 4th pediatric flu death of year

                        BOSTON ?
                        A fourth pediatric flu death has been confirmed by state heath officials.

                        The Massachusetts Department of Public Health said a teenage boy from Middlesex County died from the flu.

                        Additional details about the child's death were not immediately released.

                        The other three cases involved an adolescent boy from Worcester County and two girls from Middlesex County. Those deaths occurred in January and February.
