Louisiana 2013-14 Flu Season Weeks 44-28: 6 Total Pediatric Deaths

Week 44, ending Nov 2, 2013
Influenza activity was sporadic in Louisiana during week 44.
The top circulating respiratory viruses reported this week, other than influenza, are Rhino/Enterovirus, RSV, Parainfluenza, and Adenovirus.
ILI visits are trending upward but are still below the regional baseline.
PCR test results for weeks 43-44 are all 2009 H1N1
Influenza activity remained stable in Louisiana during week 46 . The top circulating respiratory viruses reported this week, other than influenza, are Rhino/Enterovirus, RSV, Parainfluenza 1, and Adenovirus.
ILI visits appear to be at the regional baseline.

Influenza activity remained elevated in Louisiana during week 51.
The top circulating respiratory viruses reported this week, other than influenza, are Rhino/Enterovirus, RSV, and Adenovirus.
ILI percent dropped slightly this week.
All specimen testing this week has been positive for Influenza A and 2009 H1N1.

1 new pediatric death in wk 4 was reported by the CDC.
Influenza activity decreased in Louisiana this week but remains well above baseline. The top circulating respiratory viruses reported this week, other than influenza, are Rhino/Enterovirus and Coronaviruses.
For the first time since wk 42, flu B is being reported in the PCR results.
