Doctors are urging everyone to get a flu shot, and with New Orleans expecting Super Bowl crowds of more than 150,000 to be in town, health officials say it's likely many of them will come to the Big Easy with flu-like symptoms.

The Marriott on Canal Street is the host hotel for the San Francisco 49ers, so the staff there is doing its best to keep the rooms germ-free.

The state epidemiologist said that with the large crowds come more chances for germs to spread.

"In the crowding, if you don't want to get infected, wear a mask," Ratard said. "That will also protect you."
Mayor Mitch Landrieu said local and state officials have worked to make sure people are aware of the current flu outbreak.
