Baton Rouge—Department of Health and Hospitals Secretary Bruce D. Greenstein will be joined by State Sen. Fred Mills and DHH Region 4 Medical Director Dr. Tina Stefanski to kick off the state's annual flu vaccination campaign at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 10.

Each year, more than 200,000 Americans are hospitalized because of the flu and more than 36,000 die from influenza-related causes. While Louisiana normally doesn't see increased flu activity until January, DHH surveillance has noted a recent uptick in reported cases across the state.
