    Deaths trend down

    Flu specimens tested:
    wk 40: 3 tested, all negative
    wk 41: 1 tested, negative
    wk 42: 2 tested, both negative
    wk 43: 2 tested, both negative
    wk 44: 3 tested, one positive H1

    Week 46, ending Nov 16

    ILI visits continue to trend downward, below the last 2 seasons at this time.

    In week 45, 3 flu specimens were tested; all were negative.
    In week 46, 7 flu specimens were tested; 6 were negative and 1 was positive for A/H1

      ILI visits trended a bit upward this week. So far, it appears to be more similar to the 2011-12 season than 2012-13 season.

      Three specimens were tested and all 3 were negative for flu.

      Rhinovirus: 81
      Parainfluenza 1: 12
      Parainfluenza 4: 8
      Adenovirus: 1
      Influenza A: 1

                  Deaths trended a bit upward; now right at 7.5%

                  ILI: down a bit but still near 6%
                  The trend is very similar to last year

                    One new pediatric death was reported in Kansas for wk 8 by the CDC. Another was previously reported for wk 6.
