The flu season is here, and Jackson County is seeing plenty of the virus.
At least 16 people in the community have been diagnosed with the H1N1 flu strain in the past month, causing some to become critically ill, said Anita Root, infection specialist at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.
Two adults ended up in the intensive care unit, added Lin Montgomery, educator-coordinator at Jackson County Health Department.
