  • Arkansas 2013-14 Flu Season Wk 48-28, 4 Total Pediatric Deaths

    Week 48, ending Nov 30

Apparently Arkansas does not release a weekly update.

The MMWR lists one pediatric death in AR during week 48 and another earlier one in week 45.

            • Schools were out last week, so we have no new information on absenteeism. It would not be surprising to see even higher rate of illness next week when children return to school.

            • Since September 29, 2013 (week 40), over 3,800 positive influenza antigen tests have been reported to Arkansas Department of Health by healthcare providers, over 1,400 reported in the last week alone
