HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) ? 150 students sick from one school ? all with flu-like symptoms. That?s the situation at Monrovia Middle School in Madison as they deal with the big influx of absences and health concerns.
Principal Derrell Brown says he believes the outbreak is from this year?s flu shot not effectively treating the flu.
The CDC warned this year?s flu vaccine may not be effective because the vaccine does not match the strains of the flu that?s circulating.
Principal Brown says the majority of the 150 sick students tested positive for the flu.
?Normally we have about 20-25 a day out, which is out two percent. We?re up to 13-15 percent of our student body out,? said Brown...
